Hi all, just joined, first post.
I have been rather ignorant to the fact that asbestos was used in plaster ceilings and on walls for houses before the late 1990s. Our house dates from the 1880s and we never considered that some of the internal walls may contain asbestos within the plaster or the wall material itself.
They don't seem to be lath and plaster walls, more like a sheet but don't appear to be a modern dry line sheet so I don't know if this is original or from a house refurb at a later stage in its life.
Either way, a few years ago I drilled into them a couple of times and now, with with my new found knowledge, I'm concerned that these drill holes have been allowing fibre to fly about. Should just a few drill holes be a concern? And if it is, how come we're never told about this when buying a period property?
Any advice and past experience on this would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
