I'm rebuilding a garden wall. It had a 6 inch lean over a footpath and the bricks were badly spalled on average to about 20% of their thickness due to previous interventions involving cement. The wall would comprise about 3000 bricks and I've saved only 1500, most of which will need to be stretchers due to the spalling on the other side. I think the bricks are Georgian which makes them a funny size. The brick size is approximately 230 x 73 x 108 which is 9 inch x 2 7/8 inch x 4 1/4 inch. I think the bricks are Bedford Clamp.
I've been having trouble finding a match. Most old and reproduction bricks are 68mm. I'll do a road trip around the reclamation yards to see what they have they aren't telling me about but I've not found anything half close yet after a couple of weeks phone calls and emailing photos. Being Bedford clamps fired in a funny way the headers were often yellow or green while the stretchers were mostly red.
Anyone have any ideas?
