Since Malcolm launched his Satisfying Small Projects thread I've been considering a suitable counter proposition that members could use to record the little projects or jobs they have least enjoyed and do not in any way look forward to ever repeating - in spite of the fact its almost certain they will need to. I use the term 'Breath of Fresh Air Projects/Jobs' to signify the fact that these activities just 'get right up my nose' and for any number of specific reasons.
One example occurred yesterday when I noticed that the grout between the tiles and shower tray in the main bathroom was failing. I 'hate' grouting with a venom and in particular I positively despise routing out old grout before putting it back again. To my mind its the most soul destroying, mind numbing, irritating and frustrating job I have ever had the misfortune to undertake. Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy applying the grout to a newly tiled wall as that is most likely one of the final steps in a larger and much more satisfying project but.....
To have to take it out again, particularly when its of the water resistant and therefore much harder variety is guaranteed to send me into fits of misery and despair. There are few other jobs that have this negative effect on me.... but there are a few. How about you?
