Hi all.
For the last month I've been removing, repairing and reinstalling the small cast iron range and repairing the clay brick fireplace in our new cottage. It's now all fully installed & works great.
But I can't help being curious as to whether it's period for the property or a repro.
There are no casting or makers marks except for one panel behind the oven, which has 1166 & 14 scrawled underneath it on it.
I'm fairly familiar with antique grades of cast iron, the look of old casting techniques and it certainly doesn't look like some of the casting seen on later stoves.
The cottage was built in 1819.
Any of the architectural antique or range aficionados have thoughts?
