Looking at a property and thanks to Google Maps, historically I noticed that when it had timber door / window frames the bricks were fine, but the first replacement of windows and door to UPVC caused the bricks on the party walls to move outwards. The pointing was also poor at this time. About 10 years later, another UPVC door + frame and more movement around the door. Today is about 9 years after the new door. The back of the house is fine - no movement that I can see but the bricks certainly protrude more on the door side than the window side. Inside it looks fine - well kept, no visible cracks or even hints of it. To be honest, internally, I really like it.
Over the last 10 years, it's had two owners which seems unusual for the location but as it's terraced, it's plausible. It's the second terrace from the end if that changes things - I've read that such properties can be under different loads than the rest of the row. And the mortar scratches away which I'm taking as a good sign that it isn't cement.
House is ~1900/1920
Should I be concerned?
