This takes the biscuit-- on the Market Square in our Town there is a substantially proportioned listed building, mid 19thc. It is now divided into 3 retail units, one of which has been empty for a couple of years whilst an insurance dispute was being sorted out. The owner of that unit is somewhat unpredictable and rather eccentric and carried out some repair work on the stucco at the front. He was told by the Conservation Officer that only certain colours could be used on the listed building and provided the owner with a colour card showing the appropriate shades. The owner went out, purchased a few litres of each of the colours, mixed them all together and painted the front from top to bottom. result is ice cream pink and peppermint green-- :!: I will try and get a pic--- but really I had to laugh.
