We are insulating the suspended timber floor. Last week we lifted the boards and pretty much all joists looked dry and healthy. In a couple of places the timber packing piece under the joist seems to have dry rot (?). There is a DPC under it but looks like it has crumbled over the years. There was also soil touching these spots that I have now clear out, along with clearing up the air brick openings. Have good ventilation now.
My question is what do I do with the existing damage? Do I cut it out the bits that look affected? Do I try to change the whole wedge and put a new one in? Or do I just leave it as is assuming that the steps taken so far will not allow any further damage?
