Hello. My bathroom project has been postponed but I am still slowly gathering the necessary bits and bobs to tackle it next year. I have decided to do this on as tight a budget as possible as I feel I am spending too much money on my little house. I am trying for an early 20th century style although the basin and toilet (vintage doulton items) that I have are probably more deco in shape but hopefully people will see them as classic and timeless!!!!. I was planning to tile up to dado height with square white tiles in a brick bond pattern because they are cheap and as period as anything. My plan was to finish the edge of the tiling with bullnosed tiles. However these are only available in 6" tiles which for some reason are 152mm (not 150.8mm). The cheap white tiles are 150mm. The difference in size it too big to make up with grout lines. 150mm square white tiles are £10/m^2 and 152mm square tiles are £75/m^3. I need, either to find 150mm bullnosed tiles, cheap 152mm square white tiles or an acceptable way of finishing the edge (I really don't like the tile edging strips). I suppose a clean way of cutting or grinding 2mm of a tile edge would also work! Does anyone have any ideas please??
