We've recently just had a damp surveyor round to look at what seems to be rising damp in our back bathroom wall- which we suspect is due to the outside patio being above DPC level, and looking to install either a french drain or aco channel.
Unfortunately whilst checking if perhaps this was also due to a leak etc, we've discovered that the bathtub has also been leaking as the sealant seems loose due to possible shifting of the bathtub downwards. The floorboards have been constant wet as a result.
The quote provided was:
"inside
1 remove bath panel
2 remove plastic drip ,mastic and insert new b mould drip bead around the bath edge
3 make good wall underneath the bath edge (as possible, Limited access)
4 make good and treat floorboard as possible (Limited access, )
5 put the bath panel back
6 remove toilet and isolate water
7remove plaster and skirting behind toilet
8 skim the affected area
9 new skirting on the affected area
10 escavate outside to create a French channel and fill with shingles
11 remove rubbish
Labour and materials £3200 "
We're still waiting on another two quotes but just wondering if this was reasonable (in London) for the two jobs?
