Georgian Corner stones repair

Hello everyone. I am new to this group and this is my first post. I am looking for advice please on how to fix the cracks on our house’s corner stones. The cracks have been there for about 10-15 years. We filled them with a repair kit (I can’t remember what we used as it’s so long ago). Now we want to fix it and make it look less unsightly. Do any of you have experience with this? How should we fix it?

Do you know if they are full stones or perhaps just veneers? @Stevers may have some good advice to offer re repairs, hopefully he or others will be along shortly.

The finish on them makes me think that they're rendered, so essentially decorative, and this is consistent with the roughcast. A crack like that could be caused by the outer skin of a cavity wall being on the move possibly due to wall tie failure or thermal movement. If that's the case the cracks won't be stable and filling them won't be a long term fix. Cracks can be stitched, but that would be disruptive and may cause the cracks to move elsewhere.

How old is the house and does it have cavity walls?

I would say that those are simply rendered ‘quoins’, aesthetic rather than structural.

The straight, and numerous cracks imply it’s a hard mix, but also that some movement has occurred to create them and detach from the substrate.

Thank you for you reply. My father looked into its history. From what I remember, It was built in the early 1800’s. The original part of the house is a long Welsh cottage. However, around 1800, the owner, an army major, had stone carried from another nearby cottage to build an extension onto his Welsh cottage. There are cavity walls.
