Ground level, dpc and airbrick query

Looking to ask for some advice please.

Externally, previous owners have simply continued to top up red chippings, such that ground level is close to dpc and airbricks. I’m wanting to address to prevent any possible future damp issues. Was thinking to take ground leave to two brick below dpc and the fill tone brick below dpc with chippings - some photos hopefully attached.
However, wider garden at higher level and not able to take this reduced height idea very far. So was thinking of taking out about 300mm from building and installing kerbstone idea to deal with different levels, but was concerned this could create a channel canal that might cause problems in heavy rainfall. Any suggestions most welcome. Thanks

Problem with gravel is that it gets clogged up with dirt and muck and turns to mud and becomes a perfect growing medium for weeds. In the current dry spell you can run it through a riddle to separate off the muck and get it nicely cleaned up so it won't be quite as deleterious to the building. I spend quite an inordinate amount of time on this pursuit having an irrational love of a nice bit of gravel. Or preferably dig it all out and get some beach pebbles in there. I mean, where do those pink chips even come from?

Cubist - The Zebcolm Trench looks a great idea but be more than I need. Will clear out, dig down and try to grade the ground a bit and use chips first.
Fernicarry - as I’ve been digging out I’ve been riddling, washing chips and bagging for reuse. The roses are loving the soil that I’m recycling elsewhere in the garden.
The chips are local stone quarried from Balmullo Quarry, located on Lucklawhill in Fife. I could maybe do a chanel of beach pebbles next to building then red chips - what size of beach pebbles are you thinking?
Was also thinking of re painting brick course below render. Usually use Zinsser Allcoat Matt white for render, timbers and plastics and was thinking of picking bricks out in a red tinted colour. Bricks have been painted white previously but quite weathered now. Is there a specific paint anyone would recommend for painting brick? Will have to learn how to repoint brickwork - more googling required
