So, I have the usual problem of ground level being equal to floor level and no DPC. It appears that this was always the case, but the original floor was large quarries over earth so wasn't really the problem.
The previous owner ripped these out to use as the patio slabs, and put in a concrete floor instead - hurrah! Cue inevitable dampness at the base of the walls. I was going to do a Zebra style trench, however, some test diggings have revealed that I would be exposing the footings which are rubble stone and clay - which I'm a touch wary of doing. So I am throwing myself upon the whims of this forum to beg for advice. Some explanatory photos:
Showing that floor height and ground height are the same - yes the PVC will be going after Christmas...
Photo showing the ashlar etc
Close up of footings starting to be exposed
Thoughts?
