Hello. We are currently buying a Victorian end of terrance, which I heard was built in 1868 but when I’ve looked into it, could be later. We are a bit scared of this house as it needs a bit of work and it has damp which we haven’t decided how to fix yet.
Anyway - I wondered if anyone is able to tell me from these photos whether the basement looks like a half basement that was intended to be habitable or whether it’s a cellar that has been converted?
There are no
chimney breasts but might there have been at some point? (An upstairs chimney breast has been removed so would surprise me if these have been removed too? And neighbouring properties have chimney breast in the basement)
Thanks in advance!
