Just been for a holiday. Thought I'd recommend this place for a visit if you're in the area. http://www.htnw.co.uk/phc.html

The Pendle Heritage Centre, at Park Hill, Barrowford, run by Heritage Trust for the North West, is not only an interesting house, but has been conserved and displayed as a model of good conservation practice and the information presented is clear, interesting and accurate.

(And, yes, there's even a room devoted to the witches.)

If you enjoyed Tales of the Green Valley from a 17thC Welsh famhoue on telly a few years ago, or reading the book Building the Green Valley which sets out the story of restoring a Monmouthshire valley to period agricultural use, you maybe interested in this place:

Specifically it isn't a publc/tourist attraction, but they do have a living history week once a year for schools. Kindly they've allowed us to visit as a family for a day in July.

Will be great to see the parallels with this place and how it may have operated in the 1600s.
