Insulating Attic Rooms

Hi all

Anyone got any experience of insulating original warm roof attic rooms, with dormers?

Trying to decide whether to follow SPAB advice and go for above rafter wood fibre board insulation (which most roofers aren't aware of) as part of a re-roof

If you can get away with the extra height build up without impacting other features - gutters, adjacent roofs, chimney drip courses, adequate tiles still working to cover etc…. Then it is the preferable way, as you won’t lose internal space and can use the full rafter depth for sheepswool / woodfibre.

Thanks for the reply. We're replacing the whole roof, and rebuilding chimneys, replacing guttering (the works basically), so feels like it makes sense to go above rafter
