Hello all,
I have a room in the centre of a Victorian brick home with a tar and slate dpc.
The room has had cabinetry removed and wall plaster with it - so half is back to brick the other half the original plaster which is solid.
The original plaster is around 13mm thick, pale and soft so I'm guessing it's a lime compound. The brick pointing is also the same.
I have rubbed out some of the pointing with my finger and also from the original plaster and tested them separately with some vinegar in a bowl and they both fizzle.
I'm guessing lime on both counts. I think.
Question is - Should a traditional lime product such as Ta-Mayr be best, or can an alternative like lime-lite renovation plaster then the high impact finish coat be suitable?
Guessing gypsum based products is a mono.
Any assistance would be grand.
Thanking you.
