Is this a genuine Victorian fireplace?

When we moved into our Victorian house we found this fireplace surround in one of the rooms.

I wondered if you could tell whether it’s Victorian?

My thoughts, if it’s Victorian it’s very late Victorian. Looks more Edwardian to my eye.

Not an expert - but I think it looks Edwardian.

And as an aside. It looks like the ground levels are way too high around the property. Might be worth digging a Zebcolm trench.
