I have a house with original windows of leaded lights and wood casement windows. The picture is an example of one of ours in good condition.
I am stuck! The front house windows needs the wood surrounds and sills replacing due to light damage and water ingress through failure to replace lost cement and waterproof the leaded lights.
I'd like to replace with traditional leaded lights (multiple glass panes, not a single glass pane with metal rods forming over the glass) and wood frames. However, I've found it near impossible to find a window supplier who does the traditional lead and wood casement windows.
Has anyone had a similar issue? I'm thinking of approaching a stained glass specialist and getting the wood casements separately.
I'd really appreciate any advice or experience others have.
