Hi,
We’ve recently had our period Sandstone property repointed in lime, unfortunately the old boy that carried out the work passed away and their is a couple of small snagging areas that need completed, the materials are still on site and I’m happy to do the work myself but don’t know they ratios for the mix.
I’ve tried to find these details online but he seems to have used a rather obscure mix and I’m struggling to find instructions.
He used sand, quicklime pellets and nhl 3.5,
Mixing sharp sand and quicklime and a little water until the mix heated up then mixing in the nhl with water to the desired consistency.
Is anyone familiar with this method/mix and if so would you be able to advise on ratios
Many thanks
