May your rooms not dip below 20 degrees, (!!) your fires not smoke, and all be jolly and well. Time to put our feet up and say well done for projects started, completed, or just prepared for. Never mind if they weren't finished for Christmas - they will be for next.

BC is having a quietly festive time this year, not entertaining, and no Christmas food or drink as I'm dieting. But I love to think of the Christmases it has seen with 7 children living here in 1860 and doubtless all trooping over the fields to church!

I'd like some time for Christmas. Although I don't think you can buy that online. Maybe Amazon will start to sell it one day.

Time to renovate 2nd born's room, and the sash window. Time to spend time with offspring and Mrs Wobs. Time to get a new garage, new front door, and all the other jobs around the house.

Christmas Day will be one of noisy babies and toddlers, and a large dinner to help prepare, but should be a good day. Friends are coming round, one of whom is very pregnant, and so we could have a suprise at one point.

Chaos here with 3 excited kids + mother-in-law, but I wouldn't have it any other way really.

Next year - well, the list of jobs that probably won't get done includes finishing my 98% completed garage, finishing the 50% decorated bathroom and kitchen, finishing the renovation of the windows, ermmmm, is there a theme emerging here? :lol:

Just got back indoors from a dealing with a spot of bother this afternoon. FF junior arrived home from uni yesterday so we spent a productive afternoon tidying up the various piles of old sand, rubble and general building detritus from outside the house. With the tractor trailer only slightly overloaded (and it's a 3 ton trailer!) our last job as dusk fell was to trundle up to the field and tip the load into the convenient pit that I'm gradually filling in. An easy five minute job . . . unless the overloaded tractor and trailer gets bogged down in the field! Cue an hour of digging, jacking and winching in the cold and dark and mud with only the light of a mobile phone to guide us!

But tenacity was rewarded with success - as are most things we face with our lovely old buildings - and I have just finished the most welcome cup of tea and mince pie for a long while in front of a roaring woodburner, so all is well again at FF manor.

All of which is my usual rambling way of eventually getting to the point, which is to wish all PPUKers and their families a very joyous Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!

A merry Christmas and a happy, prosperous and productive New Year to all from a very gloomy Tipperary where the view of the snow on the mountains is obscured by mist although tomorrow is supposed to be brighter..
I hope next year to insulate and slate the roof of the dairy and fit roof lights, doors and windows to make it nice and dry so I can spread out all my ‘Whatsits’ and other rusty stuff.
The donkeys are well fed and warned to expect a woman giving birth to descend on them along with some old blokes bringing smelly stuff and bling…
