On the ground floor the floor is simply a concrete screed, and on the upper floor there are the original wooden boards, with no type of flooring ever installed on top. We would like to install parquet throughout the whole house.

If the boards are in ok condition then they could be refinished. Might be cheaper and easier than replacement and the CO might be more sympathetic to that approach

Right now if I had a spare £25-30k to spend on the house I'd be seriously considering solar electric, power wall and electric heating (either radiant or storage)

Batteries and a cheap night rate tariff are the biggest energy thing you can do to save money. If you can offset as close to 100% of your usage to off peak electricity you save far more than installing solar unless you've got space for a huge array. You can get on Octopus Go without an EV but with a battery, I believe, and that will give 8-9p/kwh at the moment.

And I know I'm an evangelist - but air to air is a great way of getting heating costs right down - at a good night rate and a battery you're paying a few pence per kwh, less than gas and with better efficiency. A air to air system is about 50% more per room than storage heaters but that will pay for itself pretty quickly.

And if you've got a 3 phase supply, or the option to get one for a reasonable amount you can charge and discharge that battery very quickly which gives you arbitrage opportunities for export on a agile tariff at times of year when you don't use all your battery - you don't need solar for DNO approval, battery storage is sufficient.
