The membrane is certainly the one thing between the elements and the room below That's a shocking bit of roofing.88v8 said:it doesn't leak. I can only presume the membrane is keeping it out

This site is also free, and a wonderful resources for its users, whether its technology is old or new.paulb33 said:Minor moan. This site uses very old technology, which makes photo loading ridiculously difficult.

Oh, didn't know that. (Add to list of things I didn't know I didn't know).
I like the look of pantiles, but there are 'issues'.

To paraphrase Mandy Rice-Davies, it would, wouldn't it. The clue is in the title

Feltwell said:A common mistake with the membranes under tiles is that people stretch them taut. They are supposed to sag slightly between the rafters/trusses .....a decent quality one - Proctor Roofshield .....

88v8 said:Yes, it would, but it is free.... this selfsame discussion went on, extensively, on another free site I frequent, more traffic there in a day than PPF in a year... the conclusion was that the cost of updating the functionality would likely not be justifiable, and if we made a fuss about not being able to do this n that, the site operator might decide to close it.
So we count our blessings on that site, and I bless the fact that amongst the missing functionality there, is headers and footers of repetitive self-preening mottos and photographs...

Oh no...we've only just got over the last change, let's not start that again! They'll be introducing one of these mobile apse things next and then where will we be!Penners said:The forum engine does get changed occasionally. This php incarnation was introduced in - so far as I remember - in around 2005/6. So who knows...?

Feltwell said:I'm decidedly low-tech anyway, I don't do smartphones and the like, but I just upload pictures to photobucket and then paste the "img" links into the post, or if it's just one small picture upload it directly. I'm really quite inept - well, more disinterested in learning about new technology if I'm being honest - in most things computer-related so if I can cope with it, I reckon anyone can!
Presumably hauling a heavy, arched-roof, church niche around with us!worms said:They'll be introducing one of these mobile apse things next and then where will we be!
