A fairly major report is out showing some detail how the UK could be zero carbon by 2050. One issue that sprung out is the lack of clarity on how we are going to move away from using cement. A high energy product, there is no real solution in the report. This brings a thought: If portland cement is going to become more expensive/difficult to get hold of, we may see a resurgence of lime products.

New builds may look very different to what they do now if we are to move away from cement.
And ideas how they could do that? Is this potentially good news for our period houses?
