Period News about our lovely Middi

I spoke with Middi's wife yesterday and she asked me to thank everyone for sending messages, all of which his family read out to him and they are convinced they "played a huge part in bringing him round from his coma". Middi remains very weak due to his many weeks of inactivity and his rehab plan involves a lot of physiotherapy to help him rebuild his muscle strength - but all of that is expected and the doctors are confident it can all be managed towards a full recovery. Possibly the best bit of news is that Middi is becoming very impatient with being bed-bound, which I'm sure will stand him in good stead during his recovery! I'm planning to visit him in hospital later this week and will pass on everyone's best wishes.

But there are my windows though, he promised to do those! I've seen his window making in the flesh and very skilful it was too.

Such great news, how fabulous there's strong progress and strong hope for a full recovery! I remember losing all my muscular strength during a stretch in intensive care, not nice to have to relearn to walk and manoeuvre yourself but it soon comes back as others have said. Sending all our best love xxx

Just back from visiting Middi in hospital this evening and I was very pleasantly surprised at how well he was for someone only two weeks out of a 5 week coma. Really, he seemed no worse than anyone recovering from a minor op and was eating well when I arrived and is completely lucid - so much so that I think boredom is going to be his biggest challenge in the coming weeks while he undergoes lots of physiotherapy to rebuild his muscle strength. There seems to be nothing in the way of a full recovery, which is absolutely wonderful.

He asked me to convey thanks for all the good wishes, though I suggested if would be better to build up his strength so he can get back online and do it himself!

Not quite yet, though he was joking about his medical insurance premium being his best ever investment!

I am, however, expecting some wry comments about the packets of green Kit Kats (kindly flown in specially by Milady) that I'll be delivering to him when I next visit.
I mean, green[/u] kit kats! :shock: :lol:
