Hi All,
First time poster, but I've been reading all the flagstone / solid floor threads on here, and I am looking for advice.
We've just bought a house that has a rear hallway that is flagstone on earth. It's been painted over many times, and is just horrendous. It will take way too much effort / cost to clean off the paint, re-lay and fix than is probably worth it. So, I am looking at breathable solutions to lay over the flag.
My thoughts are this:
- Limecrete to smooth out all the undulations
- Bal Flexbone 2Easy uncoupling mat
- SecilTek Adhere Cal NHL tiling adhesive
My understanding is that if I then tile over this the floor will still be able to breathe through the grout.
Looking forward to your input and guidance. I'll post a picture of the floor later!
