Hello forum,
I am hoping someone can help me, I would like some advice on removal of a supporting wall in an Edwardian house which I have fallen in love with.
The original part of the property was built in 1911 but it has had a rear extension put on the back on 2 levels. I have added a blue dotted line on the floor plan where the original back of the house was and where supports have been added, photo included.
My guess is the fireplace wall and other T shape wall circled in red is supporting the supports and back of the house.
The question I am trying to work out is can the wall / area in red come down to make it one big area? There is currently bifold doors across the back but I put in a green X where we would be willing to break this to put french doors in so a wall can be built to rest a support on if one was to go longways.
I was wondering if a support like a plus sign + shape could be added but with no support in the middle of the +.
Does anyone know how much I should be budgeting for this?
Thanks!!
