replacing architrave *PIC*

I have had to have some architraves from around doors removed in my 1900 Glasgow tenement flat, due to dry rot.

I am now looking to replace these and wondered if there are any good suppliers of wood architrave. My Google searches are not turning up any matches for the kind of mouldings I am looking for.

I haven't sussed out local joiners yet (have only just moved to the area) but I am also wondering about building them up myself from component parts but don't know if this is a silly idea.

I have included (rather fuzzy) image I took on my phone with a little drawing next to it of the profile. It is rather more complex than most I have seen in my internet searches.

Any suggestions as the best way to replace these architraves is greatfully received.

This is quite an ornate moulding, and I have my doubts as to whether (a) you'll find it stocked anywhere, and (b) whether you can make it up by ganging up standard mouldings.
You may find that your best bet is to take a piece (or your cross-section drawing) to a timber merchant or joinery company and get them to quote for machining it specially.

Thanks Nursey, I think you may be right. I have only found much simpler ones.

When looking at it I can kind of see what the componant parts would be but I am not sure how well I could stick these together having never done it before.

I agree. Getting a joiner to set up the profile and run you off a length is the way to go. Get more than you need as you don't want to have to pay the set-up costs again in the future.

If you've got the time, why not visit/leaflet-drop as many neighbours as possible, to see whether any of them need replacement architrave? The more you order, the cheaper the unit cost.

I don't think I can team up with my neighbours unfortunately as, having peered in windows, it seems they aren't all the same design. The builders in Glasgow tenements seem to have a thing for little individual flourishes here and there.
