Hi all
Has anyone experienced a saturated lime wall? We’re lime outside as we removed all the cement and got battered by a storm with 80mph winds and rain. We have very old lime plaster inside but it has been painted over in plastic paint (it was like this when we purchased it) and has plasterboard joining to it.
After the storm, we started to get penetrating damp and now some of it is very significant, yellow and brown. Our gable is S/SW. When I went into the eaves the lime mortar was darker in colour, crumbly and felt damp so the walls must be saturated. It keeps raining and we’re getting more random patches on the walls.
We’ve been advised to seal the wall with a breathable Keim or beeck sp plus.

we’ve also been recommended the Keim silicate so that’s very useful to know! Thank you
