I've just had the survey back on a cob house we are looking to purchase and I am starting to work through a project plan so I'm spending a lot of time on this site learning.
One slight nuance is the house has a small single block extension on one side. It obviously needs insulating as its cold. I'm looking at floor insulation, external wall insulation and hopefully roof insulation.
I plan to make everything as breathable as possible but given it is attached to what was the outside of the cob wall is there anything I should be particularly conscious of? I'm thinking if this will have any impact positive or negative on dampness?
The cob is covered in cement render which will need to be addressed at some point but I don't want anything I do to make the situation worse.
