Hi,
Ive noticed a dark patch under my stairs where it connects to the kitchen section of the house, and want to check if its penetrative damp, or simply condensation. This is against a party wall to our neighbours.
There isn’t any direct connection to any water to our knowledge, at least on our side. Theres been a few days of rain, and also it is in a corner where I feel could be where moisture concentrates from daily life. We keep the windows open to the best of our ability.
There is no venting on the plinths next to it.
I’ve also cut out a small square of the area and the brick/plaster beneath seems dry to me. Nowhere in this area further up the wall appears to have any moisture build up there.
Would be good to get some advice! Thank you all in advance
