my soil stack(cast iron) has a minor leak from the caulk, its turned mush and white in a section of it and seems done. in the pic you can see on the right side its no longer supple like the left side, moss seems to have found its way in and its effectively mush if you push it with your finger.
does anyone know what i'd replace it with? is there a specific procedure?
claude tells me its lead wool caulk and I need to restrip back etc etc.
