stone window sills

Does anyone have any good recommendations for quarries that will cut a Bathstone or other buff coloured stone into window sill pieces for me please?? My bay window sills are tatty and were always too small so don't hang over the brick base enough for the drip groove to overhang. I think it was a fault in original construction. If real stone is really expensive, i would also consider cast stone, if anyone has any recommendations for that too. Many thanks.

This quarry is not for from Shrewsbury and cut new hinge blocks for my gate piers. Very friendly and helpful, they were making all sorts of items there - including fireplaces and other carved work.

The blocks they cut for me were a very pale colour. They've been in place for 4 years now, and have only darkened slightly. "Real" stone won't be cheap though. I've never been very impressed with cast stone, it doesn't look quite right somehow, and I don't know if you've be able to get anything other than standard sections.

+1 for Grinshill. We used stone from them when rebuilding the front of our house - very helpful people.

Hello, I have rung around for prices and it seems real stone sills are around £100 - £120/ linear metre, which I find rather prohibitive. I would use the old sills even though they are the wrong size, if this was the only option. However cast stone is around £35 /metre and £40 for a custom mould. Does anyone have any recommendations for cast stone suppliers please, or do you think these guys look ok?

I wouldn't use cast stone on a modern property, never mind a period property.

We are about to order 60lm of heads, jambs and cills on Monday from them.

I am in Italy in Abruzzo where we have a very similar limestone to Bath stone. To have it cut is very inexpensive compared to the UK so if anyone wants I can put them in touch with a local stone cutting business.
