Temporary car size hole in wall

I've bought a new car project that needs garaging and workshop space. My long term plan is to remove the barn chimney and put a garage door in this gable and I have planning permission for that. But I'm short of time and we aren't really in lime season.

I'm tempted to make a hole and then brick it up again. The chimney might make self corbelling iffy. Maybe I could install a short lintel just enough to squeeze the car in and then brick it up again. Installing the full opening is probably a bit much before next year.

Anyone have any creative ideas?

Have you considered disassembling the car and moving it inside piecemeal and installing the door next year?

I've considered paying for storage elsewhere. Don't want to do that as having the car in the barn will prompt me to finish some other projects like the kitchen.

Tip the vehicle on its side (in a cradle perhaps), and then you won't need such a wide opening. But as the building is a barn, are there not other openings that could be used ?

There is a way of supporting the chimney and wall by bolting a steel plate to the brickwork. It's sometimes used when it's difficult to get props in place.
There are gadgets based on this method for sale or hire. There's also brick brace clips used in conjunction with a scaffold pole.

Looking again at that first section of the gable wall, between the corner and the start of the chimney, it looks to be a fraction under 8 feet wide. How wide and tall is the car? Unless its an American monster there could be enough room to squeeze it through a gap circa 6 feet wide. Also, if you only removed the brickwork to height just above that of the car then maybe you needn't do more than put some short doors to cover the hole until you get around to the being job - garage doors or car resto whichever?

I'm leaning towards having the car stored. Looks like about £1k for 6 months which should give me time to do things properly.
