The current cold snap has really focused our attention on the subject of windows, leading to full and frank discussions about the relative merits of secondary double-glazing and draught-proofing our sash windows.
So far all we've reached is a sort of amicable stalemate, so I'm turning to the forum for sensible opinions.
I reckon that to have our (large) single-glazed windows professionally draught-proofed would be expensive and only marginally effective as far as thermal insulation is concerned.
My choice is to opt for some diy system of secondary double glazing (as seen in earlier threads) because I think it would be cheaper and more effective.
