Evening all
We had the building control chap round our house today to let us know what he would need to sign off following completion of our renovation work. One of the things he said that he would check is that we had insulated properly under the floorboards. We have suspended wooden floor boards and he suggested either hanging regular loft insulation (glass wool stuff) under the boards using some sort of netting or to wedge polystyrene solid insulation in between the joists. I was not keen on the former but thought I would ask whether anyone had followed the later approach. Would imagine this is going to cost a pretty penny but could see it being beneficial. Unfortunately the distance between our joists is ~30 cm and most of the stuff that I have seen online is 50cm wide...
Thoughts?
Cheers
