Thank you, I shall procure some Solvite sachets in addition to the Anaglypta Woodchip paperthis time I’ll be more generous when pasting the edges of the wallpaper.

This one corner has given me such a headache.. I hope my first wallpaper engineering stint is over soon

Ah, if its Analglypta it might need a more heavy duty paste. Best to follow the manufacturer's instructions. I imagine they will direct you to their own reassuringly expensive product.

Anaglypta Woodchip

If a normal woodchip made by Anaglypta, then Solvite or similar will be fine, there will be instructions as to suitable ratio for the mix - I like mine so you can stand a stick up in it (just as custard and gravy should be!), but that only happens after the starch fibres have soaked up the water fully. As far as I can make out the only difference between the starch based wallpapers is that some are a natural(ish) vegetable cellulose (Langlow, LAP etc.) and others a synthetic cellulose.

The human minds ability to suppress traumatic events can often be a blessing in disguise and the vaguest of suggestions or hint's can trigger behaviours to avoid similar circumstances and the disasters they herald. Hindsight tells me that, in the hunt that culminated in the acquisition of this place, I was unconsciously favouring timber frame houses that were thoroughly unsuitable for any form of wallpaper coverings internally and for good reason.

One never to be forgotten Saturday morning the First First Lady presented me with a bundle of rolls of Anaglypta paper and the necessary materials and kit to apply same to a ceiling in our then first home. Realising that my prior and quiet protestations concerning the idea had been completely ignored and, presented with the undaunted determination of a very single minded First First Lady, discretion became the better part of valour and yours truly ended up balancing on a plank stretched between two chairs while using a long broom to sweep said paper into position over a ceiling coated with a textured paint! After the third such attempt resulted in my grappling with yet another 16 foot length of wet, sticky and tattered wallpaper wrapping my crown and other extremities which then precipitated yet another less than graceful dismount from the plank, said shredded paper ended in a damp scrunched up ball tossed into a corner - while the First First Lady rolled around on the floor in yet another fit of uncontrollable laughter.

I am sooo glad the internal walls here are divided into circa two square metre panels - and the ceilings even smaller - and that the current First Lady has ever shown a spark of interest in wallpapers.
