Hello all, I have learned so much already from browsing the various threads so thank-you all. My dilemma: I have just lifted the carpet on my Victorian terrace to be confronted with a mix of mostly original pine boards in various states of distress...
I was planning to sand, fill, replace where necessary, but looking and reading up here and elsewhere on the various pitfalls with sourcing and sealing old floors I do wonder if I'd be better off just replacing all with a solid oak floor and be done with it. The sub-floor and joists are in good solid condition.
Please put me out of my decision misery and guide me to the right outcome... many thanks in advance
