Hi everyone,
We just had new flooring fitted in a bedroom. When the floorers were doing it, they said there was movement in a wall under a window on the first floor. Previously there was a radiator on this wall which has been removed. The wall does bow a little, but the surveyor who viewed the house was of the opinion it was always the case... we are where we are. Unsure if it should have been picked up in the survey or not.
My question is what should my next steps be? Get another surveyor to look at it? In terms of repairing it, what are we looking at? Repainting or removing the existing brickwork and rebuilding the wall? The window is past repair and planning permission has been requested to replace it (with LFL but double glazed).
Advice appreciated.
