Wallrock Linning Paper on Lime Plaster

Hi
I dont think my walls are good enough to paint on som im looking at linning paper now.
Earthborn Wallpaper Paste v Natural Wallpaper Paste – Auro 389. Are there any recomendations from others on what they have secesfully used?
Im finding im going in merry go rounds getting straigh answers.

Top floor apartment in the roof, terraced, parting walls on both sides with chimneys and from and back externally facing walls, built 1890. I do have some gypsum finish on one wall when one trade as used to block off firecplace.
One of the bedrooms is alreday lined and ive removed the rest as it was all textured and diffeerent in each room including on with wood chip...ah the nightmares lol

If you get a painter and decorater in ill assume they just slapo on any paste for the linning paper due to cost and time but i could be wrong?
This then makes me think does it really matter? Internal walls not really external yes and ceiling

Pretty convinced that the powdered wallpaper pastes are much the same. All seem to be cellulose differing only in that some are a natural starch that you could eat and might derive some energy from, whilst others are a synthetic starch that would just go straight through you.
LAP (Polycell) Cold Water Paste is my goto and I buy a bag whenever I come across it, but there are plenty of 'traditional' wallpaper paste alternatives.
