What a quirky frontage, wonderful that the window butchers haven't got in there.

A slightly seaside vibe?
Is there a local colour consensus?
I like green, but this house says eggshell blue, even though I'm not usually a fan of blue.
However, unless you have nothing else to do I wouldn't feel unhappy about the existing colour scheme. Good that the PO appreciated the house enough to paint it in something other than white.
I actually really like the cream colour you already have, would recommend keeping it but certainly apply a new fresh coat. As for bringing in a bit of colour tot he front of the house that door is asking to be painted a beautiful fern green.
The first coat needs to be an alkali resist primer.
Which has to be applied to the bare surface.
Otherwise the paint will continue to come off.
Which means stripping the paint that's on there.
It's surprising how one can cultivate the ability to 'not notice' these awkward jobs that one doesn't want to do. I recommend it
Although of course it's nice when they're actually finished.
Thanks Ivor
I think the window surround is sandstone so would I apply a stabilising solution onto the bare stone? Then after apply the paint directly onto that or do I need to apply some undercoat?
