What decade are these switches from?

Hi all, my electricians who did a rewire missed this switch (for removal) - it was hidden behind a curtain. They’re coming back to remove it.

It got me wondering the decade these switches are from… does anyone know?

I think that rounded shoulder pattern was introduced in 60s or 70s and barring for the switch has seen little change since and is still produced by MK. I think I'm also right in saying that the On/Off switch itself was changed to a broader, flat plain rocker configuration in the 80s.

Should take your leccie all of 90 seconds to change it - so don't bother putting the kettle on.

We have quite a few of those where we only needed singles in those positions - this laptop is plugged into one of them. I think they're early sixties. The wiring behind them is up to standard and not the problematic 'Alkathene' cable that the house was wired with originally.

We also have the latest MK sockets, but I see no reason to replace the remaining originals - same with the light switches of similar age that we have in the basement. All part of the story of the house.

One slight fly in the ointment - The screws will be (I believe) 4BA, whilst modern ones will be M3.5. You either need to reuse the old screws or run a tap through the old fixing holes. Trying to force modern screws in to vintage holes will just bugger up both threads.
