LadyArowana and Flyfisher are right about the twirly things are for rope making.. 
It's called a wimble and in Ireland the rope is called 'sugron' pronounced 'shoegrawn' well something like that. :lol:

Lady A, I don't recall ever having to make an elephant at all. Think I might have remembered doing a life size one though. I too will also think of you when I next see one. :lol:
If you fancy making some lead tractors let me know Doug, currently trying to find some on fleabay that my two ear old wont break to smithereens within the first ten minutes. They don't make 'em like they used to!

Yes, it seems I gave up too soon. Unfortunately someone thought I should have arthritis 2 years after I retired so as it happens I made a smart move!! Talking of toys I had a small bronze piece mould that came my way years ago that was made by a company called Stoner and Saunders who used to be leading leadworkers in London. The mould was of a boy scout about 3" high. Can't find it at the moment though.
The last lot of Whatsits on here are Thatchers tools. Nobody guessed right so no prize to give away. :lol:

Blimey, not sure what kind of toymaking needs such a scary looking set of tools! The top two look like they are used for gathering and cutting something? The bottom ones look like a croupier uses for gathering chips.Are they from the world's oldest casino?

That pink grapefruit marmalade looks nice! One can only assume, therefore, that these are traditional grapefruit-marmalade-making tools. The hooky things are for hoiking the grapefruits out of the barrel, and the choppy things are for chopping them up.
The scrapey things are for ensuring that every last bit of chopped grapefruit get whooshed into the pan.

I found this buried under my 1800's extension, by the looks of the other bits and bobs, pottery , clay pipes (the older cruder types of pipe), animal bones and oyster shells this was rubbish pit out the back of the cottage, so this could date back further than the 1500's.
My guess is it is a part of some Medieval jewelry. It has lots of details, lots of herring bone designs on it very finely imprinted on the metal which had a blue green patina so I'm guessing a semi precious metal such as copper or something. A lot of work seems to have gone into it.
Or it could be a leg of a walker from a 1970's star wars toy or something.
Any ideas?

Robgil, the best I can come up with for your yoke is it's a toggle from a medieval duffle coat. Anyone remember duffle coats? I had one with pvc patches on the shoulders 8)

Robgil, to me the decoration looks very early as well, might be worth popping a pic onto a metal detecting forum such as http://www.metaldetectingforum.co.uk/ and asking if anyone can give you an idea on identifying it, you never know you may be built on a Saxon hoard! Not uncommon in these parts!
