I have my family home now not lived in but it is in a sorry state and I can’t get support to fund it.
I don’t want to sell.
Not sure where to start

Subsidence it appears
Woodrow damp
Render cracks
Where do I start
If it was me I’d probably start by speaking To a reputable builder if you know one? If not, ask around. They should have a better idea of what you’re up against and to get one or two assess and give you an idea of the work involved shouldn’t cost a penny initially.
I would say get a “survey” done which will cost you money but from my own experience, they can vary in quality widely, even when advertised as RICS certified.
I paid out I think somewhere in the region of £600 for one and while I suppose it had some merit, in a lot of cases it was far too general and mostly the advice was speak to a specialist on x, y and z.
May as well skip the middle man and start going out for plenty of quotes and opinions.
Start by getting the building water tight. You say roof, is it leaking? If so how badly?
Also get the subsidence looked at sooner rather than later so you can make a call on whether you want to pursue this project or not.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for your replay.
