Hey everyone
We've recently uncovered the plastering around the bay window and thought the bricks were in quite bad condition.
There's one level of bricks that has holes drilled in them which looks like charlton damp proof coursing has been put in it. Above this, there was wood inserted in-between the bricks that is damp and rotten. Some of the bricks can be pulled out quite easily. It looks like there's been significant water ingress over the years.
Are anyone else's bays in this condition underneath? Is this a huge worry and what would you suggest we do before plastering it back up with lime?
There was pebbledash on the outside which we have now uncovered. The outside layer of bricks is much happier now. Its just the inside we have just uncovered. Some pictures attached to help!
Would appreciate any advice. Thanks so much.
