Although I'm quite enjoying being waited on hand and foot, my poor heavily pregnant wife is struggling a little.

At least she will have some appreciation of the kind of pain I'm in when she goes into labour... (Blue touch-paper lit. Stand back and watch...)

If that's your long awaited present Doug, I'm really not sure you will be able to scan photographs very well on it?

There's not much sign of austerity-driven lighting economy in most urban areas.

They turn the lights off in Diss after 11, I don't think it's gets much more urban than that.... Or have I now lived in Suffolk too long?

I've never been to Diss so I don't know whether we are more or less urban in comparison, we do have some pretty lights at the Gardens by the Bay though.

Good news that the sick kitty is recovered and none the worse for the experience, although Mr P seems to be suffereing some sort of allergic reaction. I hope a special greeting will ease the pain.

Just a smidgin East and South of Felixtowe actually, scoot over to Khovsgol lake in Mongolia, turn right and keep going until just North of the equator. Gardens by the Bay is near the Marina Bay Sands Casino, can't miss it, plenty of places to eat thereabouts, I will buy you a lovely coconut drink to refresh you after the journey.

Singapore? I visited for christmas a few years ago en route to Australia, had some rather raucous nights out there, afraid these days taking the little one to the local zoo is about as exotic as it gets!

Norfolk :lol: but yes, Singapore, and we have a nice zoo, and a "Night Safari" and lots of other visitor attractions suitable for little ones, some nice places for grown ups and even a very few places that are totally unsuitable.... Orchard Towers springs to mind in that regard, ( locally known of 4 floors of w***es ) probably nothing compared to the sleaze and debauchery of Diss on a Saturday night though.

I visited the zoo, and narrowly avoided 4 floors.... A good friend lived there at the time (in Singapore, not Orchard towers) so had a full tour of the usual and not so usual places! Still can't quite get used to Christmas in sunny climes though, no matter how many times I've tried it!

Anyhow, for my PP Christmas I would like - a scaffold tower. I think Father Christmas may struggle to get that down the chimney though!

It's on the list for next year I think, I have numerous jobs to do at height, some of which could be done from a ladder but would be a lot more comfortable and safer from a tower. They're pricey though, especially one tall enough for the tallest bits of Feltwell Towers!

In the early naughties (a ridiculous phrase, I know!) I was involved in a project for the CAL and NEL train lines and spent some happy times in Singapore. On a couple of the trips we could only really work for an hour or so each day as we had limited time on their test tracks to 'play trains', so we had plenty of spare time to look around. I stayed on Orchard Road for the first trip but subsequently at a colleague's home in Holland Hill.

I can't say I've ever been to Diss on a saturday night though.
